Snapshots & Drone Video of Paradise Beach: A Family Friendly Little Shoreline Not So Far From Toronto
A place to walk, relax, or enjoy biking nearby
Lake Ontario blessed Ontario with many beautiful beaches, and summer is the best time to explore these delights.
Although on the weekend, we opt to go further outside the city of Toronto, there are always nearby places that are easy to explore and relax.
As I have previously explored nearby beaches like Woodbine Beach and Lakeshore Beach, I wanted to explore some new beaches around the east end of GTA (Greater Toronto Area). The beautiful combination of the sunshine, sand, and less pollution (take your pick) on the outskirts is always a great sync to enjoy.
Plus, beach areas are a splendid choice to practice my drone flights and capture some aerial photographs (when not so many people are around, of course, because of safety concerns).
Paradise Beach
I found Paradise Beach while searching through the drone nav app (it shows which areas are out-of-bounds for drone flights); I explored it around 3 or 4 weeks ago and loved the spot so much that I went there again this weekend too.
The beach is located at Lakeview Boulevard and Paradise Lane in Ajax, Ontario.
It is not a big beach! However, the beach has spots for picnics and volleyball courts. In addition, the sandy area contains beautiful sitting places. There is a paved bike lane and a separate walking route along with the beach.
The beach is also a part of the Great Lakes Waterfront Trail.
The beach is currently safe for swimming; however, sometimes, swimming is not permitted based on the water test results. As part of public health safety, Durham Region Health Department tests Lake Ontario water for all the beaches in the region (as part of its beach monitoring program). Sometimes, the test suggests restricting swimming for a particular period for that specific beach where the water hygiene level is not up to the mark. So, before diving into the lake or putting your feet into the lake water, please check the report.
As I mentioned earlier, I explored the beach twice last month. Both times, I went there in the morning.
The difference was, on my first visit, I went to capture the sunrise moments, and it was terrific. The 2nd time I went, it was around 8.00 am, so I got passed by a few people during my stay there.
To be safe and oblige the rules, I had to take down the drone (from flying to the ground) when people came closer. I have a license to operate the drone, but I wanted to be safe and respectful to the other people roaming on the beachside.
There was not much of a crowd on the beach, as it was early morning.
When I entered the beach, there were a few people on the right-hand side; however, on the other side, I saw people walking with their dogs or simply walking past the shore.
The water waves clasped me in calm tunes, and the trees gave me the shade required on the sunny summer morning. There were ample benches for sitting and relaxing in the nearby Paradise Park area; however, I didn’t see many people in the early morning.
Although I missed the sunrise, the empty beach allowed me to capture some aerial video of the place.
Here goes the result of that effort:
Overall, it is undoubtedly a family-friendly beach, which is not that far from Toronto.
So, if people around GTA want to explore nearby beaches from their location, perhaps Paradise Beach would be an excellent place to roam around or to relax and enjoy the Lake Ontario breeze.
